DESINE-Lab.  RISD.  Providence, RI

Worked as a member of the DESINE-Lab to develop a Textile Initiative (Northern Visions Sri Lanka: Textile Initiative) within a greater project to rebuild culture and livelihoods in Sri Lanka. Organized and led a workshop in Sri Lanka that introduced war widows to basic weaving and silk screening techniques. Researched natural dyes and materials for textile production.

Editor for a collaborative zine between art schools MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) and RISD (Rhode Island School of Design). Features original artwork, creative writing and interviews. Started as a creative medium to get fellow artists communicating and sharing work. Helped with theming, submissions, construction, distribution and event planning of each issue. 


              Textiles.  Machine knitting on Brother single and double bed, Industrial knitting on STOLL, weaving  on an 8-harness floor loom, AVL dobby loom, jacquard, repeat design for printed fabrics, fabric silkscreen, hand & machine sewing, embroidery (hand and digital), painting & drawing

              Upholstery. Deconstructed and reupholstered chairs with tradition and modern methods. Created upholstery fabrics. 

             Materials. Experience yarn, wood, metal, plaster, foams, plastics.                    

              Dyeing.  Natural, cellulosic, protein, direct, heat transfer, disperse and resist.

              Photography.  Versed with digital cameras and some experience with 35mm film

             Computer.   Knowledgable in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook. STOL M1+, NedGraphics Design & Repeat Pro, Weavepoint, PointCarré, Tajima Embrodery software.

Ability to thoroughly research, refine and manage a project from concept to production, including sketching and drawing, sampling and finishing. Prior background in Industrial Design (model making, prototyping, branding etc.)
